Every contract goes through a lifecycle. Here's what each status means and what happens at each stage.
The contract has been created but not yet sent to anyone. You can edit, regenerate, or delete it. No emails have been sent. This is the starting state for all new contracts.
The contract has been emailed to the other party. They've received a link to review and sign. You can still edit the contract, but changes won't be reflected in the email link — you'd need to resend.
One party has signed but the other hasn't yet. The status shows "Awaiting Sender" if you signed and are waiting for the recipient, or "Awaiting Recipient" if they signed and are waiting for you.
Both parties have signed the contract. The contract is legally binding. It will automatically move to "Completed" status.
The contract is fully executed and finalized. Both parties have signed, and the contract is legally binding. You can still view and download it, but editing is locked. You can archive it when no longer needed.
The contract has been moved to archive. It's still accessible but doesn't appear in your main contracts list. Useful for old or expired contracts you want to keep for records but don't need to see daily.
